Essential Elements for Democratic Control of Armed Forces in Lithuania

Lithuania crafted advanced and living legal framework to place civilian control over militaries, which was well supported by internal and external factors. At the same time, there are some concerns about the credibility of parliamentary oversight, which lacks the relevant civilian expertise on military matters.
